Femininity As God Intended | The Who, What, & Why Of Femininity

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion…’” — Genesis 1:27–28

In a world where femininity is constantly being redefined by culture, trends, and personal preference, we must return to the original source to understand its true meaning.

Femininity is not a cultural invention.
It is not a personality type.
It is not a trend to adopt or discard.

Femininity is a divine assignment—established by God Himself.

To fully walk in it, we must understand the who, what, and why of femininity as God intended.

THE WHO — Created in the Image of God

“So God created mankind in His own image… male and female He created them.”

Femininity begins with identity.

Before you are called to do anything, you are called to be someone.. and that someone is an image-bearer of God.

This means your femininity is not something you strive to perform. It is something you are designed to embody.

Your commission flows from your identity in God, not from comparison, insecurity, or cultural expectations.

As a feminine woman, you uniquely reflect aspects of God’s nature through your design:

  • Wisdom
  • Nurturing care
  • Creativity
  • Order
  • Beauty
  • Discernment
  • Relational intelligence

And so much more.

Your femininity is not limiting! It is expansive, because it reflects a God who cannot be confined.

THE WHAT — Blessed and Fruitful

“Then God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.’”

Femininity was blessed from the beginning with fruitfulness, multiplication, and dominion.

But fruitfulness was never meant to be narrowly defined.

It is not limited to childbearing.

True fruitfulness includes:

  • Ideas
  • Influence
  • Leadership
  • Wisdom
  • Systems
  • Discipleship
  • Service & administration
  • Legacy

Every way you naturally nurture, build, cultivate, organize, and influence is a clue pointing toward your purpose.

Your gifts, your strengths, your interests—even the patterns in your life—are not random.

They are evidence of how God designed your femininity to produce fruit in the earth.

You were created to multiply what God has placed within you.

THE WHY — Dominion for God’s Glory

“Rule… subdue… fill the earth.”

The “why” of femininity is dominion with God.

It is stewardship, influence, and authority expressed through divine order.

Femininity was never meant to be reduced to aesthetics:

It is not just soft colors, polished appearances, or curated lifestyles.

And it was never meant to be:

  • Passive
  • Oppressed
  • Silenced
  • Or limited to a secondary role

True femininity is powerful.

It was designed to work in harmony with masculinity, not in competition, to subdue the earth and advance the purposes of God’s Kingdom.

There are divine assignments that require the presence, voice, and leadership of women.

Restoring What Was Redefined

From the beginning, there has been a consistent attempt to distort womanhood:

  • To shift focus
  • To diminish authority
  • To confuse purpose

As a result, culture has repeatedly redefined femininity by either reducing it or reshaping it into something it was never meant to be.

But if you want to understand the true purpose of a thing, you do not ask the creation.

You go back to the Creator.

And the original design has always been clear.

A Call Back to Design

Femininity, as God intended, is not about fitting into a mold.

It is about aligning with truth.

It is:

  • Identity rooted in God
  • Fruitfulness expressed through your life
  • Dominion carried with grace, wisdom, and authority

You are not here by accident.
You are not without purpose.
And your femininity is not optional!

You were created to reflect God, produce fruit, and carry influence in the earth.

And this is femininity as God intended.
